| 1. Question of the Week
|
Q: I am an international student. I am going be changing my major
beginning Winter Quarter (January 2010). Do I need to get a new I-20
to reflect my new program of study?
A: Yes, as an international student you must obtain a new I-20
or DS 2019 to reflect your change in major. Any time a student changes
his/her
major or moves from one degree level to another (i.e. masters to
doctoral) a new I-20 or DS 2019 is required. You must obtain the
new I-20 or DS 2019
no later than 15 days from the beginning of the new program, but
the sooner the better. You will need to bring proof of admission
to the new program
and proof of financial support for the new program to the UC International
in order to obtain the new I-20/DS 2019. You will also need to
complete a change of major e-Form found at https://ioffice.uc.edu

| 4. Winter Quarter 2010
Airport Pick-Up Volunteers Needed |
As you know, Winter Quarter 2010 is fast approaching and we will
have new students arriving (most likely between December 26, 2009 and
January 3, 2010). We are starting the planning process for this and are
in need of volunteers! We will need drivers (drive Night Walk van to
airport, pick up arrivals, drop off at designated location) and greeters
(drive down to airport, greet arrivals, help with baggage claim and escort
to vans). If you volunteered during fall quarter you can request to keep
your same role of either driver or greeter. This can serve as a community
service requirement. Please respond to Kelly Waikel at kelly.waikel@uc.edu
if you can help. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
